Day 1: 7-8 hours

After registering and meeting your guide, we will start our trek through the tropical forest, where you will see a variety of flora and fauna, including large trees, orchids, wild birds, and butterflies.

We might also spot the black monkey known as a langur. Our first rest stop will be at Montong Satas shelter (1,500 m), where we will enjoy some refreshments.

Based on your preferences and the weather, we can either set up camp for the night at post 3, Mondokon Lokak (2,000 m), after a two-hour climb from post 2, or continue our trek (after a break and lunch at post 3) for another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m).

The crater rim offers breathtaking views of Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m) and the summit of Mt. Rinjani. On a clear evening, you can see the Gili Islands, Bali, and Mt. Agung to the west. We will set up camp, enjoy dinner, and spend the night here.
