Day 0

Upon your arrival in Lombok, whether by air or sea, our team will be there to greet you and transport you to our hotel and office located in Senaru. Once in Senaru, you’ll meet our staff to complete your registration and participate in a brief orientation with your guide. During this session, you’ll be introduced to the trekking procedures and get ready for your adventure. If you arrive at least one hour before sunset, you can visit the Sindang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. Note: While it is possible to arrive on the same day as the trek, we recommend arriving the day prior to avoid any potential delays and ensure a smooth start.

Day 1: 7-8 hours

Our guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby at 6:30 am. After breakfast, we will drive for about 10 minutes to the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) in Senaru (601 m) to register and meet your guide. Our trek begins with a steep climb through a thick tropical forest rich in flora, bird life, and a variety of butterflies. You might see orchids and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey known locally as lutung. We will take rest stops along the way, including at pos 2 Montong Satas shelter (1,500 m), where your guide will share village stories and local legends.

At 3:00 pm, we will depart from the third post for the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m), a walk that takes approximately 2.5 hours, with an afternoon break on the way. We will arrive at the Senaru Crater Rim Camp around 5:30 pm, where we will have dinner and spend the night. From the crater rim, there are sweeping views across Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m) to the summit of Mt. Rinjani. Within the crater, Mt. Baru (2,351 m) is an active volcano that last erupted dramatically in 2009. On a clear evening, you can see the Gili Islands, Bali, and Mt. Agung to the west.

Day 2: 5-6 hours

We will wake up early at 6:15 am to witness the sunrise at 6:30 am. After breakfast and some relaxation, we will begin our descent back to Senaru Village. The trail first goes through grasslands and then back into the shade of the tropical forest. After about seven hours from the rim, we will reach the Rinjani Information Center in Senaru (601 m), where a car will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel and your next destination.
